<< DAY 1 CUSCO/CLOUD FOREST (3450m/11320ft-1450m/4760ft).
Our jungle adventure will start in Cusco at 6:00 am. in our private vehicle through the impressive eastern ranges of the high Andes, through typical villages that still preserve their traditions, culture and language (Quechua), we then arrive to Pisaq pass (4100m-13455ft) where we will get kitted out with our mountain bikes and the rest of the equipment to start our cycling adventure down the mountain putting our whole technique into practice on dirt roads and stones, and at the same time enjoy the landscape with its typical llamas, alpacas and scary sheep when they see us pass, and so, we will arrive at the point on the route destined for lunch, then drive to the Acjanaco pass (3465m-11370ft), place where the Manu national park begins, surrounded by a beautiful grassland forest, which is an impressive ecosystem at high altitude in part of the Peruvian Andes that concentrates unique fauna, such as (Spectacled bears, Deers, Foxes and many rodents), definitely a good place to take photos; then, it will be time to ride our bikes again to start the second descent through the Elfin forest and the High jungle perceiving the changes of the vegetation very fast becoming increasingly dense and thus housing much more biodiversity of flora, fauna and colorful birds, such as (Orchids, Begonias, Passion fruits, Jaguarundis, Tayras, Toucans, Quetzals, Trogons, Jays, Tyrants, ect.), and so, we will arrive to our lodge located in the mystical Cloud forest to enjoy the place having a cold beer, hot shower, delicious dinner and get ready for a well deserved rest in this natural place (Paradise or Cock of the Rock lodge) 24 hrs hot water for shower, bedroom with private bathroom, bar, power 6-10 pm only to recharge batteries 65km/40 mi. << DAY 2 CLOUD FOREST/LOWER ELEVATION/CLOUD FOREST.
Wake up early to take advantage and enjoy this magical natural place to the fullest, observing many species of colorful birds such as (Tanagers, Flycatchers, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds and much more including the beautiful Cock of the rock) (Peruvian national bird), then, we will return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast for later continue our bike trip; this day will be full of many challenges, narrow road and winding, rock garden, cross rivers and streams but full of adrenaline and adventure that in the end we will have a lot of fun. We will also pass through small villages dedicated to agriculture (bananas, pineapples, coca plants, yuca etc), lunch on the route, and thus we will reach the village of Salvacion where the cycling trip ends, then, while our crew load the bikes to our vehicle, we will visit a small lake where we will use a typical raft made of balsa wood to explore it and to be able to observe another type of wildlife which focuses on this habitat such as (Hoatzins, Horned screamers, Oropendolas, Herons, Egrets, Macaws, Parrots) and much more; so then, we will return by car to our lodge in the Cloud forest where a delicious dinner, a glass of wine, and a well deserved rest awaits us as well as spend our last night in this peaceful ecosystem (Paradise or Cock of the Rock lodge) B,L,D. 52km/32mil Total distance of cycling
<< DAY 3 CLOUD FOREST/CUSCO
Breakfast at 7:00am, we then start the return to Cusco, driving for a couple of hours to Acjanaco pass, where we will start our first descent to Paucartambo town, picnic lunch on the route, then drive for 2 more hours until the second pass and start our second and final descent to Pisaq town, where we will end our mountain bike adventure by the Peruvian Andes, high jungle and rainforest ecosystems, we then drive one more hour back to Cusco city.
