HUCHUYQOSQO TO LAMAY (Hike&Ruins)
A scenic two hour drive through the valley of Cusco take us to the start of our hike at the Qoricocha pass (4200m-13780ft). We will follow an ancient Inca trail through small villages that still preserve their languaje, culture and traditions left as a legacy by our ancestors Quechuas (Incas). We will suddenly reach the narrowest part of the trail which will descend by stone stairs to then emerge in an stunning viewpoint towards the Sacred valley of the Incas, we then continue for a few more minutes to the impressive archaeological site of Huchuyqosqo which was an Inca palace of stone and mud structures located at 3450m-11320ft. on the top of a mountain surrounded by two streams of abundant water both for human consumption and for agricultural irrigation. After exploring it, we will begin the descent to the town of Lamay where our vehicle awaits us to take us back to Cusco or a hotel in the Sacred valley.
