CYCLING ON SINGLE-TRACKS

Technical trails for experienced riders. You may not have heard much about Mountain Biking in Peru, but you are sure to go home and tell everyone you know about it. More than seven hundred years ago the Incas built a network of paths which today provided some of the most extensive mountain bike trails in the world. From technical single track to gentler fire roads, huge descent to big air, mountain biking in Cusco has all it. The paths you will bike are still used by local villagers giving you unmatched opportunities to scape from the tourist and see the real Perú.

We PERÚ QUEST will take you to know some routes and we are sure that they will fascinate you from start to finish, enjoying majestic landscapes and obviously experiencing pure adrenaline that you are looking for so much and you love to feel it in each challenge.

<< CYCLING IN HUCHUYQOSQO

When the drive to the start of the ride is almost as extreme as the ride itself, you know you are in for a good day out. This is one of our long time favorites and a true wilderness biking adventure high in the Andes. You drive to 4100m/13450ft, stock up on snacks and spares and follow an Inca trail that winds it’s way to an Inca ceremonial platform at nearly 4300m/14110ft. From here is nearly all down hill or cross country. We visit Inca sites and charming Andean hamlets, then cross an Inca hanging bridge before a short portage through an unrideable but truly gorgeous canyon, emerging at a viewpoint high above the Sacred valley you carry on along well preserved Inca terraces to the impressive Inca site of Huchuyqosqo. Through to have been a Royal Palace these are currently being restored and explored by archaeologists and see very few visitors. For those who need more adrenaline there lies another descent to the valley by way of a delightful dirt trail (with the odd bit of walking). Lunch will be taken along the route. Then we take you to your hotel in the valley or Cusco.
